Token – Top Traders API Updates: Track Smart Money Across EVM and Solana

Birdeye Data has updated the Token – Top Traders API, extending advanced ranking capabilities from Solana to all supported EVM networks and enabling multiple wallet labels on Solana. Developers can now track and rank the most profitable wallets for any token across 19 chains.

What’s New?

We have introduced two primary enhancements to the Token – Top Traders endpoint:

Multi-Chain Advanced Ranking: EVM chains now support the same deep performance tracking as Solana. This update unlocks:

• time_frame: Filter results by query windows including 2d, 3d, 7d, 14d, 30d, 60d, and 90d to capture historical trader behavior.
• sort_by: Sort traders using performance metrics such as total_pnl, unrealized_pnl, realized_pnl, and volume_usd.
• x-chain: Specify the target network using the chain header (defaults to solana).
• Richer Response Data: EVM query responses now include detailed profit-and-loss (PnL) fields and USD volume data for every ranked address.

Solana Multi-Tag Response Support: The response payload for Solana queries now returns multiple wallet labels in the tags field.

• tags: Access multiple labels per wallet (e.g. ["dev", "bundler", "sniper", "insider"]) to identify complex trader behaviors directly from the response.

Why It Matters

Tracking top traders is essential for building portfolio tracking tools, copy-trading bots, and wallet analysis dashboards. However, calculating historical PnL and filtering out noise on EVM networks often requires heavy indexing infrastructure.

By calculating these metrics server-side and extending support to EVM chains, developers can query multi-chain trader performance with a single API call. Combined with Solana’s new multi-tag filtering, teams can easily identify and monitor smart money movements with sub-second accuracy.
